It’s Thailand’s second biggest island, after Phuket, and it is the future of the country's beach tourism. The island is lush and mountainous, with hiking trails and waterfalls. One main road winds along the extensive coastline, through quaint towns and beaches, dotted with restaurants, houses, resorts and shops.
Koh Chang, or Elephant Iland, once a sleepy area with sugar plantations and fishermen, today is the place to go for a taste of a true island relaxation, still unspoiled by the rampant development that afflicts overcroweded Phuket and Koh Pha Ngan.
